Pont du Normandie, Honfleur

Heading north again, we decided to take the scenic coastal road from Boulogne to Calais, in the knowledge that there are several good restaurants in that area.  A time wasting mistake! We got tangled up in stationary traffic jams, because there was a cross country run underway, which cut across the road in 2 places about 3miles apart, added to which the road we needed to take out of the village was shut off by the police for the duration of the run, so we had to double back on ourselves to take the main road after all!  However, on reaching the motorhome carpark in Calais, we went off in search of a restaurant to end our travels with a good French lunch and we found one, in fact it was so good and plentiful that it was necessary to sleep it off until our ferry crossing a couple of hours later.

And so ended our 2011 trip, 18 weeks and 6,500 miles after leaving home!
