After catching up on the laundry (gotta be done, if you take such long trips!) and emails we left Tsoli after lunch and found that the ferry boat crossing was well signposted.

However, it was a bit of a free-for-all with the loading, with everyone pushing in every which way, so after sitting quite a while in the hot afternoon sun we left them all to it and took the crossing over the bridge, for which we were pleased to be charged only €12.90,

so perhaps toll prices depend on days of the week or time of day.  We drove to Nafpaktos and spent the night camped on the beach, just through the town.

Nafpaktos harbour..

It was a peaceful spot at Nafpaktos, unfortunately I spent too long reading in the sun and now, 2 days later, I still have the sunburn to prove it!  We left there in the late afternoon, me turning red as we drove along, and went about 50kms to Messolongi.  We stayed there on the harbour overnight, but were warned in advance by an English and also an Irish couple, who were mooring there for a few nights, that the local lads loved to come out around midnight and make a lot of noise – which they did!

a loftier view!
