We’re off again, ending the day’s drive on free motorhome parking about 500m from the port at St. Nazaire. We visited a submarine, which was well worthwhile as we went onboard and were walked through the entire length with the aid of headsets.
Next morning is taken up with a pre-booked guided visit around the shipyard. Fortunately we were bussed around because the heavens opened up for most of the time. John had read that these tours need to be booked in advance so I did it the week before; he had hoped to visit the airbus too, but found that that needed booking in advance too. For anyone who’s interested, English speaking tours are on Thursday mornings around the shipyard and the airbus on Thursday afternoons, whereas the submarine doesn’t need to be booked. After a quick lunch we headed north again, our destination Plenee-Jugon in Cote d’Armor, Bretagne, where our daughter and son-in-law live, with Antonio asking all the way “Are we nearly at Auntie Sadie’s yet?”!
